Sophie was drawn to yoga in her mid-twenties. A somewhat self-conscious child and prone to anxiety and fatigue as a young adult, she found that as she developed her yoga and meditation practice, she was able to accept herself and discovered a profound love of her body, her mind and the world around her. She especially enjoys teaching the techniques of yoga to children, helping them to develop greater mental focus, providing them with tools to regulate their emotions while developing strong and flexible bodies. Sophie’s teaching style is playful, lighthearted and gentle. She completed her 200 hour Vinyasa Teacher Training at Joschi International in New York. Formerly a volunteer as part of the Newark Yoga Movement to bring yoga into Newark’s Pubic Schools, Sophie now teaches in local schools and at FIAF where she teaches children yoga in French. Sophie is also an experienced French tutor, a passionate crafter and has two elementary school aged children.
